Let me help you become a successful learner! I am a committed and enthusiastic tutor with the talent to develop fun and engaging lessons you or your child will enjoy. As a Native English speaker I can guide you along your journey of becoming fluent in the English language.

I am a person who loves learning about many things, I have many interests myself and I can individualize instruction, based on student’s needs and interests. I like to make the learning environment as creative and memorable as possible. Understanding that learning a new language can be challenging, I know that a warm, caring and patient teacher is what you are looking for. Someone who wants all adults and children to be successful learners in a classroom atmosphere that is stimulating, encouraging, and adaptive to the varied needs of students.

From my own high school days I have been eager to assist others in their goals to become well educated. I enjoyed volunteering my time with younger students and spent many hours giving them my attention to improve their own skills. During my college education I was involved in an inter-campus liaison group which assisted students in communicating with teachers in their chosen subjects. This also involved promoting tertiary level subjects to high school students through public presentations in seminars and on radio stations.

Through a variety of careers, including retail, medical, musical and educational professions, I have always had the opportunity to train and teach fellow employees and students to improve their skills in a pleasing way.

As a teacher I know there is no end to learning, I am enrolled in a volunteer school in which my own skills are observed and remarked on. This school offers me a continued program that allows me to improve communication skills, public speaking, accurate reading, fluency, pronunciation, modulation and team work.

As your teacher I am confident we will enjoy our lessons together. I am interested in your progress and success in learning.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I start assessing the student’s English level from our very first meeting. I ask them several questions – how they use English, what they believe are their weak points, how much are they exposed to English, etc.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am a Native English Speaker. I have had the full 12 years of primary school and high school education in English. I have learnt the English language through all the same methods I will be offering you. Besides having a TESOL certification, I have enjoyed tutoring students who speak Indigenous Australian Languages in remote towns of Australia. I have also taught Piano Music Lessons to beginner students, this area of teaching includes analysis of ability, a structured progressive learning program, and as the teacher, a great deal of enthusiasm to encourage students through challenging skills.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I like the English language and am very friendly and social. My volunteer work with refugees in places of need mean that I can have a career that supports my activity in various communities.

What types of Students have you worked with?

I initially started teaching fellow students during my high school years. These were children who were in lower grade levels who needed one-on-one attention to help them succeed. I spent a year assisting Indigenous children in remote Australia with a tutoring program aimed at improving their reading and comprehension skills.
I have spend many years focusing on youths and adults with the goal to improve their quality of life through a Christian Education program.
I, along with my husband, spent 18 months caring for a foster child, assisting her though an education program and teaching life skills for her long term success.

Why do you need me to be your teacher?

I allow you to speak up to 90% of the time. I will be asking you questions to get you to speak, correcting you and helping you to gain confidence.
